Pale is the moon tonight! Her face so sweet and dear. The air beset with wanderlust, And the stars retreat away. Serene is the moon tonight! Her croon, she draws me near. I’ll go to her – I must! Before the dawn of day. Bright is the moon tonight! To her I harbour no fear. Over the bridge of stars and dust, To Selene my respects I pay. Melancholy is the moon tonight! Shed not a single tear. Let me rest in the skies so vast As my skin fades into gray.
